Overview of carbon black imports and exports

According to statistics, China’s carbon black imports in August were 26799.807 tons, an increase of 20868.493 tons, an increase of 351.84%, a month-on-month increase of 6001.167 tons, an increase of 28.85%.

In August, China’s carbon black export volume was 71273.923 tons, a decrease of 127.633 tons, down 0.18%, a decrease of 6457.097 tons, an increase of 9.96%.

Analysis of carbon black import and export in August according to production and marketing countries

As can be seen from the above figure, the main importers of carbon black in our country in August were Russia, South Korea and Belgium, accounting for 86% of the total import volume. Among them, Russia imported 20,239.674 tons, South Korea 1,485.301 tons and Belgium 903.56 tons.

As can be seen from the chart above, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia accounted for 78 percent of carbon black exports in August. Among them, it exported 20166.071 tons to Thailand, 186,08.025 tons to Vietnam and 9364.519 tons to Indonesia.

Import and export forecast of carbon black in future months

In summary, the bright spot in August lies in the import volume, and the factor that affects the larger year-on-year increase in China’s carbon black import volume is still the increase in Russia’s carbon black import volume. Statistics show that the proportion of imports from Russia in August is 77%.

It is expected that the import and export of carbon black will continue the market in August in the future. Restricted by the demand side, the export volume of carbon black is still not dominant, and the advantage of imported sources is also shrinking. Therefore, the overall import and export performance of carbon black in the second half of the year may be weaker than that in the first half of the year, but the import and export of Russian carbon black may continue to purchase.
